Spend some free time exploring the sombre history of Berlin. After the Second World War three official war memorials were erected. These are not only monuments but also war cemeteries, the most visited being Tiergarten in the city centre. The monuments here not only symbolize victory but also acknowledge the 80,000 soldiers who did not survive the Battle of Berlin.
The Soviet War memorial gives you the opportunity to explorer and remember some of Europe’s darker times. Given the central location the Tiergarten War Memorial is in close walking distance of some of Berlin's most famous landmarks, including the Brandenburg Gates, the Holocaust Memorial and the remains of the Berlin wall.
