Wild Kiwi Is Now a Certified B Corp!

By Ryan Brown published on 5 February 2026

We’ve got HUGE news we’ve been eager to share.

After 20 months of hard work behind the scenes, Wild Kiwi is now officially a Certified B Corporation (B Corp).

If you’ve seen “B Corp” popping up and wondered what it actually means, you’re not alone. The short version is this: B Corp certification is an independent verification that a business meets high standards for how it operates — not just what it sells. It looks at the choices we make every day, from how we support our team to how we work with partners, how we show up for local communities, and how we reduce our impact on the places we all love exploring.

This matters to us because travel is personal. Whether you’re here for a big adventure, a once-in-a-lifetime trip, or a well-earned escape with more comfort and ease, you’re trusting us with your time, your money, and your memories. We take that seriously.

So, what is B Corp — and why does it matter?

A Certified B Corp is a company that’s been assessed and verified against strong standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. It’s not a promise on a website or a vague “we care about the planet” message. It’s a framework that checks how a business actually runs.

That’s what we love about it. B Corp looks at the full picture, including:

  • People: how we support our team and create a fair, healthy workplace
  • Communities: how we work with and contribute to the places we operate in
  • Environment: how we measure and reduce our footprint
  • Governance: how we commit to transparency and accountability
  • Customers: how we show up for travellers and deliver responsibly

And in the travel industry — where the places we visit are the product — that kind of accountability matters.

What B Corp means at Wild Kiwi (the behind-the-scenes stuff)

Travel companies can talk a big game. The real work is what happens behind the curtain.

B Corp pushed us to look closely at how Wild Kiwi operates and to improve across the board. That includes how we support our team, how we choose partners, and how we approach impact in a way that’s practical and measurable — not perfect, but genuinely committed.

It also means we’re part of a global community of businesses working towards a more inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy. That’s a fancy way of saying: business can be a force for good, and success shouldn’t be measured only in dollars.

What this means for you as a Wild Kiwi traveller

Whether you’re 23 and chasing your next big story, or you’re planning a more premium trip where everything’s taken care of, this certification is about trust.

Here’s what B Corp means for you:

  • You can feel even better about who you’re travelling with. We’ve been independently verified — not self-declared — for how we operate.
  • We’re committing to higher standards across people, planet, and purpose. This isn’t a marketing moment. It’s a long-term commitment baked into how we do business.
  • We’re holding ourselves accountable to keep improving — year after year. B Corp isn’t a “set and forget”. It’s about constantly measuring, improving, and raising the bar.

Not a finish line. A waypoint.

We’re proud of this milestone, but we’re not pretending it means we’ve “made it”. B Corp certification is a waypoint — a clear marker that says we’re serious about doing things the right way and continuing to improve. Travel is always evolving, and so are we. Our goal is to create trips that feel incredible for our travellers while also respecting the people and places that make those experiences possible in the first place.

Thank you for being part of our story, and we love being a part of yours.

If you’re new here: welcome. We can’t wait to show you why Aotearoa hits different — and why travel done well can be both unforgettable and responsible.

If you’ve travelled with us before: thank you for travelling with us, cheering us on, and being part of a community that cares about more than ticking destinations off a list. You’ve helped shape Wild Kiwi into what it is today.

Here’s to better travel, done better. 💚

A Handy B Corp FAQ For Those Who Want More Info!

What is a B Corp?

A B Corp (Certified B Corporation) is a business that has been independently verified to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. It’s a certification that looks at how a company operates — not just what it sells.

What does B Corp certified mean in simple terms?

It means a company has been assessed by an independent organisation and proven it meets higher standards for things like how it treats staff, how it works with communities, and how it manages its environmental impact — and it commits to improving over time.

Who certifies B Corps?

B Corps are certified by B Lab, a non-profit that assesses companies against a detailed set of standards that cover people, planet, governance, and more.

Is B Corp certification the same as being a non-profit?

No. B Corps can be for-profit businesses. The difference is that B Corps commit to meeting higher standards and balancing profit with purpose and responsibility.

Why is B Corp important in the travel industry?

Travel depends on real places, real communities, and real environments. B Corp provides a credible framework to help travel companies operate more responsibly, measure impact, and stay accountable — rather than relying on vague sustainability claims.

Does B Corp mean Wild Kiwi is sustainable?

B Corp doesn’t mean “perfectly sustainable”. It means we’ve been independently assessed against high standards and are committed to improving year after year — including reducing our impact and operating responsibly.

Does B Corp certification affect my trip or itinerary?

Your trip will still be the Wild Kiwi experience you know — epic locations, great people, and unforgettable moments. The difference is what happens behind the scenes: stronger standards, more accountability, and ongoing improvements in how we operate.

How does being a B Corp benefit customers?

It gives travellers extra confidence that the company they’re booking with has been independently verified for responsible business practices — and is committed to transparency and continual improvement.

Is B Corp a trustworthy certification or just marketing?

B Corp is widely regarded as a credible certification because it involves independent assessment and ongoing requirements. It’s not a badge you can buy — it’s earned through meeting specific standards and being accountable over time.

How often do B Corps get reviewed?

B Corps must recertify periodically (typically every few years), which helps ensure businesses keep improving rather than treating certification as a one-off achievement.
