Auckland to Raglan
Our first stop is New Zealand’s iconic laid back surfer town - Raglan. Home to one of the world’s longest left hand breaks, you’ll have the chance to explore the rugged landscape, unique black sand beach and catch a few waves.
Raglan to Taupō
The adventure continues to Waitomo, a town better known for what’s beneath it. Crawl, abseil, raft and squeeze your way through the dark abyss, lit only by the twinkling light of the glow worms above. After all that adventure it’s time for a beer by the stunning Lake Taupō.
Explore the magnificent lake jetboating, sailing or from 15,000ft above. Fancy a hike? Spend the day conquering one of the best one day walks in the World, Tongariro Crossing. Whatever you choose, you’ll be spoilt for choice in Taupō!
Taupō to Rotorua
Say goodbye to Lake Taupo as we head to the geothermal centre of New Zealand, Rotorua. Luging, zorbing, white water rafting, cultural performances or simply marvelling at the unique geothermal landscape; there’s heaps to do here!
Dive into a jam-packed day in and around Rotorua. Experience the world-famous movie set at Hobbiton, max-out relax in natural thermal hot springs, check out the bubbling mud pools, or discover the breathtaking redwood forests.
Rotorua to Coromandel
After a few scenic stops on the stunning drive to Coromandel Peninsula, we arrive into the coastal town of Hahei. Explore the Gateway to Narnia at Cathedral Cove, spend the afternoon kayaking or swimming in the turquoise waters then catch the sunset from the natural hot pools on Hot Water Beach.
Coromandel to Auckland
En route back to Auckland, discover amazing ‘off the beaten track’ places to visit as you soak in all those memories exploring New Zealand's North Island. Once back, catch a flight to Christchurch to continue your epic adventure in the South.
Christchurch to Hanmer Springs
To kick off your South Island adventure, we travel up the coast to the beautiful resort town Hanmer Springs. The ultimate destination for adventure and relaxation, it's best known for it's natural hot pools and spas for pure indulgence.
Hanmer Springs to Kaikoura
Next up is Kaikoura, there are very few places in the world that can boast such natural wonders as those offered by land and sea in this small community. The dramatic, rugged cliffs on the edge of town are as impressive as the whale watching and dolphin swimming.
Kaikoura to Abel Tasman
After a few epic adventures on our way out of town we head to the famed Marlborough Wine Region. Have a sip or two of it’s world-famous Sauvignon Blanc before heading through the seaside town of Picton and off towards arguably New Zealand’s most beautiful National Park, Abel Tasman.
Kick back on the beach or, if you’re feeling adventurous, join us for a hike to discover the raw natural beauty of Abel Tasman National Park. If you’re lucky, you might spot native wildlife such as the Tui or Tuatara.
Abel Tasman to Westport via Punakaiki
Drive through the scenic Nelson Lakes as we head down the west coast to the former mining town of Westport. Enjoy the wild west with walks that include lighthouse views and seal colonies. In the evening, taste the local brew or capture a west coast beach sunset.
Westpost to Hokitika
Today we explore the famed Pancake Rocks and walk around the blowholes on our way to Hokitika. Discover friendly locals amidst the pubs and cafes in this charming old gold mining town. A trip here wouldn’t be complete without seeing the stunning turquoise gorge and a cheeky swim.
Hokitika to Christchurch
On our way back to Christchurch, we drive one of three scenic passes across the Southern Alps. The Lewis Pass takes us through unmodified beech forests, alpine wetland and along the Lewis River. We have plenty of distance to cover but we will have stunning landscapes & stops along the way.
