Four days are enough to see one region properly. Our Far North Escape tour starts and finishes in Auckland and covers Northland's kauri forests, the Bay of Islands and Waitangi, so it's easy to add before or after a longer trip.
A week is enough if you focus on one island and do it properly. New Zealand looks small until you meet our roads, so seven days on the North or South Island gives you time to enjoy each stop instead of spending it in transit.
We don't recommend it. Ferry or flight transfers take a big chunk out of a short trip, so you'd spend more time travelling than exploring. If you want both islands, our 11–14 day tours cover them at a comfortable pace.
Yes. Far North Escape, Northern Voyager and North Island Escape all start and finish in Auckland, so you can book them back-to-back for a longer North Island trip. Our team can help with dates and an extra night in Auckland in between.
